  • Ground water/environmental studies in the Black Hills region, including abandoned mine sites.
  • Remote sensing for geological mapping and resource evaluation in arid regions.
  • Controls on the Homestake gold deposit, with application to exploration.
  • Late Cretaceous vertebrates and their dispersal before final breakup of Gondwana.
  • Marine vertebrates of the Western Interior Seaway, particularly mosasaurs and plesiosaurs; and Late Tertiary and Quaternary mammals from the Pacific Northwest.
  • Subsurface mapping in western South Dakota.
