Nano Student Profiles
Mary Kharouf completed her undergraduate degree at Marquette University After graduation, she worked in research and development in the diagnostic division at Abbott Laboratories in Chicago, Illinois. In 1997, Mary completed course requirements and certification to teach secondary education at Black Hills State University. In 2000, she earned her Master of Science degree for Materials Engineering and Science at the School of Mines. She is currently a second year graduate student in the Nanoscience and Nanoengineering Ph.D. program, working with Dr. David Boyles of the Chemistry Department, investigating new polycarbonates for transparent armor through a grant from the Army Research Office. (1983) with a double major in Chemistry and Medical Technology, and a minor in biology.
Josiah Reams received his B.S. in Chemistry from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 2005. He is currently a second year graduate student in the Nano Science and Engineering Ph.D. program. His research involves the development of Novel Aerospace Resin Synthesis, and is conducted in the Chemistry Department under the direction of Dr. David Boyles.
