How to Finance Your Graduate Education
What is available at the School of Mines?
Many graduate students are eligible for financial aid and student loans.
In addition, all Graduate School applicants are automatically considered for teaching assistantships. Departments, programs or individual researchers having funding seek students to work on their projects. We encourage students applying to include their need and experience in the Statement of Purpose. Financial awards are primarily granted to students starting in the fall. Graduate students wishing to be considered for financial assistance should submit their application by March 15.
Information on financial support for specific programs are available on the Programs of Study pages.
Annually, the Office of Graduate Education extends the call to faculty to nominate students for various fellowships for the following academic year. The material is usually due in early February.
