Department of Defense National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowships
The Department of Defense offers approximately 200 graduate fellowships each year (approximately 9 percent success rate). Fellowships provide three years of support for graduate study leading to research-based Ph.D. degrees in the fields of science and engineering and are intended for students in the early stages of their graduate study.
Level of Support
$30,500-$31,500 stipend for a 12-month tenure plus a cost-of-education allowance per tenure year. The award is portable.
Deadlines
Electronic applications are typically submitted in January of your Senior or first year of graduate study.
