South Dakota School of Mines and Technology embraces research to solve the problems of industry, the military, government agencies, and to generate economic development in Rapid City, the Black Hills, and the state of South Dakota.
Research Funding (FY 2007)
School of Mines faculty members and researchers received more than 70 research awards totaling nearly $17 million during the 2007 fiscal year. The funding came from many different agencies, including the Army Research Laboratory, Air Force Research Laboratory, National Science Foundation, NASA, U.S. Department of the Interior, the State of South Dakota, and more.
