South Dakota School of Mines and Technology
As one of the benefits of being a smaller institution, The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology has a relatively simple admissions process. Applications are reviewed and acceptance decisions are made within two to three weeks of receipt of the application and required materials.
Applications from U.S. residents should be received 60 days before the beginning of the semester of desired admittance. International students should apply 120 days prior to their expected date of matriculation.
All individuals who have graduated from institutions with accredited engineering and science curricula are encouraged to apply.
The Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) is required of all applicants for admission except for School of Mines graduates.
For international students, a minimum score of 520 on the TOEFL is required (560 for admission without additional English tutoring)
