Grade requirements
- Minimum GPA 3.0 (B) on total transcript or probation
- C or better on courses 500 level or above or probation
- Any F or U results in immediate probation
- Any F must be retaken - cannot graduate with F on transcript
Continuing registration
- Must maintain minimum 2 credit hour registration continuously (every fall and spring semester) from enrollment to diploma release
- Includes summer session also if on campus
Assistantships - GRA/GTA
- Must be full time, degree-seeking graduate student
- Cannot receive if on probation
- Tuition reduction only if more than minimum stipend and enrolled full time
- Signed student contract is required
Program of study
- Due during second semester
- Failure to submit results in probation
- Revisions in coursework or major professor require new form - changes in other committee members require an email notice
- Grad rep must be from outside your major department
- Forms available from Grad Office or electronically from department secretaries
- At degree check, POS must match transcript
- Transfer credits
Thesis preparation

- Plan ahead - approval process from thesis defense to final signature can take several weeks, depending upon corrections necessary
- Grammar and punctuation
- Thesis briefing session each semester
Path to graduation
- Academic calendar
- You may schedule a status check with the graduate office at 20 credit hours
- Follow-up is your responsibility
- Deadlines are not negotiable. Mark them on your calendar and plan accordingly.
